So you've found me!

I'm Erin Yiting! I'm a marketer, a self-proclaimed chef, I love visiting art galleries, and I'm still trying to master the art of skiing.

Currently working on UI/UX designs on my own, and you know it - the internet is the one of the best teachers.

This site is made possible from Google Sites.

How I design and market

I am all about integrating marketing in design concepts - from branding and product awareness to making words associate with the product :) I enjoy making products visible, enjoyable, and accessible to users

Quick Facts about Me:

I was born in the beautiful Formosa Island, Taiwan!

My parents wanted to be extra (fabulous~) so we moved to America in order to receive an education that would help my siblings and me. Yet,  I am pretty sure we moved here because the weather in Taiwan was a little aggressive for me.

eeny, meeny, You're the Oldest.

Being the oldest in the family is not easy to begin with. Especially moving from Taiwan to California, United States. It's like skipping a rock on the river, how long can the rock last on the water surface before sinking deep below the water? Growing up in a foreign country with a language barrier is like that fragile yet strong rock, skipping on top of the water.  Wishing that the strength of hope will last, or even better, landing on land.

As I grew older, I realized being the oldest isn't bad. I set examples of the falls and the strength to get back up. From a young age, I learned perseverance, thinking from everyone's point of view, and I have grown from tiny frail Yiting to a more assertive Yiting. I know my mistakes and am not afraid to share about my failures, which make me who I am.

"What are the adventures,"

"What are the adventures," one may ask. TRAVELING and cooking!

Traveling not only heals my soul and my desire to see the world. It opens my eyes to different cultures and people :)

And cooking... oh COOKING! It is an art. An art of mixing. An art of finding. An art of taste. Mixing new ingredients and finding  the "WOW" in between, or maybe it is because I ran out of salt, and had to use fermented salted shrimp.

I don't YOLO, I YODO, so live life to the fullest and be the change in the world.

LEAPing forward

I still remember the day of graduation. It was surreal. Not only my fellow friends, parents and siblings shed tears of happiness, but Mother Nature  also let out her joy and excitement with some confetti from the sky :)

I have never seen my mom cry before, not even when she had to single-handedly raise my siblings and me in a foreign place. And yet, this strong, amazing woman sent me off to college with tears in her eyes; each pearl dropped as she waved goodbye at me.

Her tears made me stronger. At Sonoma State, I spent my 5 years and discovered who I am. I felt a side of me. Fear. Not going to deny, I was scared going into college. And because of the fear, I was able to pick myself up and quickly adapt in a culture I was unfamiliar with.

College not only changed me, it paved a new path for me. I learned to give back and uplift those who came from a working background like my family, and people who aren't afraid to break that status quo.
